Silent Auction application-powered by Intellinet-empowers bidders to connect with Georgia's top executives representing over $3.5 billion in budgetary responsibility
Atlanta, GA (May 12, 2008) - Intellinet, a highly certified, professional IT consulting services firm, was invited to partner with Women in Technology (WIT) for the fifth consecutive year for the organization's 14th annual fundraising event, WIT Connect '08. For the event, Intellinet's world-class Application Development team custom-developed a Silent Auction application which gave over 400 individuals the "power to connect" one-on-one with C-level decision-makers representing some of Georgia's top businesses. As sponsors of the Silent Auction, Intellinet fully automated the bidding process-an event that was previously managed using pencil and paper. Developed as a robust service oriented architecture written in C#, attendees placed bids and were able to view real-time results made visible on each PC and displayed on large plasma screens. All auction information was stored in a SQL Server database that continuously refreshed current bids and time remaining in the auction to create an interactive "live" experience. Twenty-two auction candidates were featured in the Silent Auction, including Steve Beason of Scientific Games, Becky Blalock of Southern Company, Beach Clark of the Georgia Aquarium, Brian Shield of The Weather Channel, Greg Morrison of Cox Enterprises, Kris S. Rinne of AT&T, and more… Held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center on April 30, the event's silent and live auctions raised more than $200,000 in support of philanthropic initiatives, Girls Get IT and WIT on Track.
