Intellinet Honored for Developing Cutting-Edge Intranet Solution for Atlanta-based Cox Communications Atlanta, Ga. (July 29, 1999) -- Bill Gates, chairman and CEO of Microsoft Corp., presented Intellinet, the Southeast's leading Microsoft Certified Solution Provider Partner, with the Best Knowledge Management Solution Collaboration Award at the 1999 Microsoft Certified Solution Provider (MCSP) Awards ceremony at Fusion 99 in San Francisco on Friday, July 23, 1999. Fusion is Microsoft's annual business symposium for MCSPs. The MCSP Awards recognize and reward the outstanding work of MCSPs, independent firms that develop and implement software solutions using Microsoft products and technologies. The Collaboration Award honors solutions that enable interpersonal and team communication and collaboration by providing a platform for sharing knowledge, information and stored data. Intellinet was honored for its NOCNET 2000 solution, an intranet site developed for Cox Communications Inc.'s Network Operating Center. Before using NOCNET, Cox operators relied heavily on flip charts to record system failures and other problems, and communication between shifts was unsystematic. The new intranet, based on Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, allows managers to access critical information within a user-friendly Internet Explorer browser to make timely business decisions. It also allows data to be displayed in a custom format and easily updated, created and manipulated. "This is a defining moment for Intellinet," said, Frank Bell, Intellinet founder, president and CEO. "We built Intellinet to deliver world-class Microsoft solutions for our customers. Being named by Microsoft as the world's best in delivering Microsoft knowledge management solutions exemplifies our strong commitment to using Microsoft technologies to help our customers maintain a leading edge in the digital economy." "Intellinet is providing collaboration solutions that maximize the knowledge management capabilities of Microsoft technology for our mutual customers," stated John Connors, vice-president, Worldwide Enterprise Group, Microsoft Corp. "It was a pleasure to recognize them as one of this year's top MCSPs at the 1999 MCSP Awards." Intellinet was one of ten companies honored at the awards ceremony who were selected from a worldwide community of 19,500 MCSP organizations. The winners were chosen based on their expertise and innovative approach to developing business solutions around principal customer segment opportunities. Microsoft representatives and a panel of independent judges selected the winners. Microsoft Certified Solution Providers are independent organizations working with Microsoft that include a wide range of companies, such as systems integrators, custom application developers, installation and deployment service providers, business consultants, and training organizations. MCSPs add value by offering their customers a full range of services, including internet, intranet and e-commerce solutions, line-of-business applications, and client/server implementations.
