Web Based Applications

Challenge: Worldspan was faced with the challenging task of maintaining fresh and accurate global content on their website. The update process took several days and many resources, and involved technical, non-marketing resources who often couldn’t address marketing needs for several days. Because of the long process, the consistency and integrity of content on the Worldspan.com website were easily compromised.

Intellinet Solution: Intellinet developed a web-based content management tool that allows Worldspan marketing employees to dynamically update the Worldspan.com website without a developer. The content management system allows users to create new web pages from templates, edit content, graphics and links on existing pages, and change the site structure with an integrated approval process. The content management system and website consist of global content, as well as local country content for certain areas of the site, and supports multiple languages. Worldspan employees control access to the Admin Tool with differing levels of security.

Accomplished: After implementation of the 2.0 Admin Tool, the time to update all aspects of the site, including adding new pages, updating graphics, and changing structure, was reduced by 93% and the resources necessary were reduced by 50%. Also, the need for technical, non-marketing resources was decreased by 63%. Updates can now be made affecting every aspect of the website on a daily basis, which results in a more dynamic website with current and accurate information.
